Robert F. Henderson Jr.
Raised in Orleans, Henderson is the son of the late Robert F. (OHS Class of 1929) and Sybil Henderson. Active in community affairs for many years. He is the Immediate Past President of the Orleans Alumni Association.
In the past Henderson has served as Chairman of the town’s Bicentennial Celebration, General Chairman of the Dogwood Festival, and President of Orleans Public Library Board of Trustees. He is also a Past Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of Orleans, currently serving as the Club’s Secretary-Treasurer. Henderson is an active member of the Orleans Wesleyan Church, where he presently serves as Spiritual Formation Director, Vice-Chairman of the Local Board of Administration and teaches the Adult Bible Class.
Henderson has been honored as a Distinguished Hoosier by Governor Mitch Daniels, received the Indiana Jefferson Award for outstanding community service, and has been named an Honorary Indiana Secretary of State, as well as a Kentucky Colonel. His accolades also include being honored as the Orleans Dogwood Citizen of the Year and serving as an Indiana Bicentennial Torch Bearer.
An avid student and collector of Lincoln Memorabilia, Henderson regularly contributes to a number of Lincoln related publications.
Henderson also occasionally serves as a voice actor for the Hoosier Hometown Live Radio Show.

| Share an update of your current business life | Prior to being elected as Town Clerk in 2007, Henderson served as a member of the Orleans Town Council for 12 years, with a number of those years as President and Chief Elected Officer. Besides completing the last year of his four-year term as Clerk, he presently serves as Exec. Director of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, a Certified Recast Leader, chairs the Orange County Tourism Commission, serves on the Radius Indiana Board, and is President of the Orange County Historical Society. For nearly 20 years Henderson was engaged in the hospitality industry, employed by the Indiana State Park Inns. |
